The Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center is now closed on weekends and holidays and at 10:00pm most weekday evenings. It will be kept open as needed for public hearings, court activities, or other scheduled events. The building's lighting and air conditioning systems will be shut down during these hours as much as possible. These changes will reduce operating costs by approximately $200,000 per year.

Some departments with 24/7 functions such as the computer center will still be allowed to operate during non-standard business hours, and the Sheriff's Control Desk in the lower level detention area will still be staffed.
